Paytm Employee Tests Positive for coronavirus in Gurgaon, Office Shut for Two Days

India is witnessing a surge in reported cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19). Today an employee of Paytm in Gurgaon has tested positive for the virus.

“One of our colleagues based out of Gurgaon office, who recently returned from Italy has sadly been tested positive for Coronavirus. He is receiving appropriate treatment. As a precautionary measure, we have suggested his team members to get health tests done immediately,” Paytm said in a statement. 

Paytm has advised all its employees in Gurgaon to work from home for the next couple of days while the Gurugram unit gets sanitized, according to the statement.

Paytm which is headquartered in Noida currently has five offices in Noida and one office in Gurugram. The combined estimated employee strenth of Paytm stands at around 20,000.

At the time of writing this article, India has a total confirmed case 28, while 25 of them have been reported since Monday. 3 people in Kerala were diagnosed with the viral infection last month. They have all recovered and discharged.

The global data for Coronovirus stands at a total of 90,893 cases of COVID-19 infections and 3,110 deaths, mostly in China, have been reported.
