After soccer, tennis is the second most trendy sport in Germany. The betting company iBet789 follows the tennis twists and turns on the courts. Betting on its platform makes watching the competition more interesting.

Famous athletes are always in the spotlight. And if they also give reasons for discussion, popularity is assured. So it happened also with the German tennis player Boris Becker, who tasted fame at 17. As talented as he is, so scandalous is his personality. When he is on the court, there is plenty to worry about in the game.

The story of becoming a tennis player

Winning the Wimbledon tournament in 1985 made Becker famous. He rose to the podium many more times:

  • won Wimbledon singles in 1986 and 1989;
  • won the Davis Cup in 1988 and 1989;
  • won the U.S. Open in 1989;
  • won the Australian Open in 1991 and 1996;
  • 1992 – Becker became Olympic champion.

The tennis player’s prize money for his career ended in 1999 is estimated at 25 million dollars. However, earning money is half the battle; it is still necessary to manage it properly. It is what Boris had problems with.

He loves social life, has an explosive temperament, invests in dubious firms, and tries his hand at different roles. From 2013 to 2016, he was the coach of no less scandalous tennis player Novak Djokovic. Under his guidance, Novak won many tournaments. But after two years, he stopped his coaching career and became an anchor at the BBC.

Becker’s Debts

Boris owed the bank $14 million. The financial institution sued him, but in 2017 Becker was declared bankrupt. The court forced the athlete to sell the Cups and make up for the debt, but the proceeds were $860,000.

Authorities soon discovered that the German had concealed assets of over 2.5 million pounds, real estate in Germany, and shares in a company. As a result, 55-year-old Becker was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for debt evasion by a British court in April 2022. However, the imprisonment of the tennis player lasted only eight months, and he was released in December. He continued a string of bad investments and spending that took a heavy toll on the athlete’s wallet.

A clear layout

Illiterate money management leads to the loss of funds. Bettors betting at iBet 789 or other bookmakers should think through the strategy, analyze recent games and team lineups and add luck. It is not worth considering predictions as a way to get rich. Instead, betting is a drive that increases the motivation to watch and cheer for your favorite player or team.
