Indian Air Force fighter jets on Wednesday shot down an F-16 aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force that had violated the Indian airspace along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir earlier today. India shot down Pakistan F-16 in retaliatory fire three kilometers within the Pakistan territory in Lam valley, in Nowshera sector.
News agency ANI reported that a parachute was seen as the PAF’s F-16 was going down. The condition of the Pakistani pilot is unknown.
PTI earlier reported that Pakistani fighter jets entered the Indian airspace in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch and Nowshera sectors but were pushed back by Indian fighter jets.
Pakistan claimed that its aircraft dropped bombs while returning. However, no confirmation of the same was available not were there reports of any casualties or damage.

“The jets entered Indian air space over Nowshera and Poonch sectors this morning,” officials said.
Times Now is reporting that a parachute has been seen from the ill-fated Pakistan plane and the Pakistani pilot may have been captured. Watch this space for a further update.
